Biography

Republican state senator from McCammon, first elected to the Idaho Senate in 2010 and seeking a ninth term in 2026. Chairs the Senate State Affairs Committee. Previously served as a Bannock County Commissioner and Marsh Valley School District trustee. Co-sponsored the 2023 Idaho Launch grant program. Voted against the $50 million Parental Choice Tax Credit and was the sole Senate Republican to vote against a recent bill regulating bathroom use by transgender individuals. Faces a primary challenge from David Worley, who has been endorsed by AG Raúl Labrador.
