Idaho’s 1st District Republican Congressman Russ Fulcher will take live questions from constituents during a telephone town hall hosted by AARP Idaho on July 27 at 10 a.m. Mountain Time. The event is open to all Idahoans, not just AARP members.

Residents can join the call by dialing the toll-free number 866-767-0637. Those who prefer an online option can watch and submit questions through the AARP Idaho Facebook page at facebook.com/AARPIdaho. Questions may also be submitted ahead of the event by emailing [email protected].

AARP Idaho State Director Karianne Fallow will lead the discussion. “What makes this teletown so interesting is it’s an interactive forum, and participants will have the opportunity to speak with Congressman Fulcher and ask him their questions directly,” Fallow said.

Fulcher’s Recent Constituent Outreach

Fulcher has been active in constituent engagement heading into the fall campaign season. He held a town hall last month covering federal public land management and the situation in Iran, among other topics.

The congressman, who has represented Idaho’s 1st District since 2019, welcomed the AARP platform as another opportunity to hear from voters across the district. “I’m grateful to AARP Idaho for hosting this telephone town hall and giving Idahoans another venue to share their counsel, ask questions, and hear directly from me,” Fulcher said.

Idaho’s 1st Congressional District covers the North Idaho Panhandle and the western portion of the state.

November Reelection Contest

Fulcher faces a competitive ballot in November, running against Democrat Kaylee Peterson, independent Sarah Zabel, and Constitution Party candidate Brendan Gomez. The telephone town hall comes at a politically active moment, with federal policy questions — including energy, public lands, and senior benefits — likely to surface in the conversation.

Issues of direct relevance to Idaho’s federal delegation have been prominent this year. A federal award of $31 million to an Idaho-Wyoming nuclear energy hub reflects the kind of development Fulcher has championed in the district, and such topics could surface during Sunday’s forum.
