In the territories, American Samoa’s territory-wide filing deadline falls on September 1, and Guam has a judicial retention candidate deadline of September 4.

The current window follows an active two weeks in which nine states — including Missouri, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, among others — closed their own candidate filing periods. Three statewide primary elections are also scheduled in the coming two weeks. Massachusetts holds its primary on September 1, New Hampshire votes September 8, and Rhode Island follows on September 9. New Hampshire voters face a same-day registration deadline — those not yet registered must do so by September 8 to participate in that day’s primary. Absentee ballot requests in New Hampshire close September 7.
