Ada County Candidates Set for Two Boise Forums
Two Boise forums will give voters an opportunity to hear from candidates seeking seats on the Ada County Commission and the Ada County Highway District.
The League of Women Voters of Idaho and the American Association of University Women are sponsoring the Ada County Commission forum, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Valley View Elementary, 3555 N. Milwaukee St.
Michael Fitzgerald and incumbent Rob Beck are confirmed for the District 2 commission race. Kelceymarie Warner will attend for the District 1 contest, where incumbent Ryan Davidson is her opponent.
Jean Henscheid, president of the Idaho League, said direct voter contact with candidates has become less common. “Sadly, the number of opportunities Idaho voters have to interact directly with candidates from across the political spectrum is shrinking,” Henscheid said.
Highway District Candidates
BABE VOTE is sponsoring a separate forum for Ada County Highway District commissioner candidates on Oct. 27. It will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at South Junior High School, 3101 W. Cassia St., in Boise.
Sean Sundwall and Miranda Gold are confirmed candidates in the District 3 race. The District 4 forum participants are Marisa Keith, Dave Case and Chris Campbell.
Both events will follow Federal Election Commission criteria for non-debate forums. Audience members may submit questions, candidates will receive equal speaking time, and the moderator may ask follow-up questions for clarification.
